final got the engine going after a few problems.
Initially engine would fire up and die after a couple of seconds. Could only
hear No.7 injector pulsing, so I stripped efi manifold down for a good clean
up, and after soaking injectors with neat injector cleaner and applying 12v
direct to each injector I managed to get 5 out of 8 pulsing. Final 3 started
working after a few light blows against the bench vice. Probably not the best
method but seemed to work. I've had the engine almost 3 years and bloke before
had it in storage, so I guess they where just seized due to lack of use. With
manifold refitted with a composite valley gasket, as tin one pissed water everywhere,
It then started after a few tweaks of the dizzy.
first startup, bit dark but sounds ok 1st_start.wmv 1.3mb

Had another go at starting up, only it seems im loosing oil pressure now. Oil
light comes on with ignition, goes out when started, but after 5 - 10 seconds
light comes back on even if revs are kept up. After reading a few post sounds
like it could be a sticking oil pressure valve. Also valve gear now sounds a
bit rattley. I will probably get a new high pressure spring / valve in the week,
and try again next weekend.
next day seems a bitt tappy & keeps loosing oil pressure tappy.wmv 2.6mb
Didnt seem to much metallic stuff amongst it, like wise the magnetic drain pug didnt have many furry like particles on it. Looked like it mainly consisted of fluff type stuff, presumably off rags ect when wiping bits clean. Also the wire gauze Im using is quite fine so a normal one might have let these through. Any way, all back together, bit of oil in, stuck the drill primer on and pressure was back almost instantly, plus takes about 15 secs for light to come back on.
Now with oil pressure good (must sort gauge out instead of light) engine sounds much better
